Competitive Teams

New England Academy of Gymnastics offers several different competitive teams to fit a wide array of ages, skills. Each team follows a similar set of progressions, which increase in difficulty as the athlete advances through each of the programs’ sequential levels. Placement on a team is by coach’s recommendation only.

GIRLS

The development program focuses on creating a solid foundation of skills for success.  The DP consists of three major segments; developmental, compulsory, and optional.  Developmental consists of levels 1-3, which can be competitive or non-competitive.  Compulsory consists of levels 4-5.  Both of these levels are progressive in nature, building upon the skills required in the previous level.  Competitive opportunities are available locally.  Optional consists of levels 6-10.

Gymnasts must be at least 4 years of age for this program.  Qualification is by coaches recommendation only.  Contact Jennifer Bowman, Girls Program Director, for more information.

BOYS

Development Program

The Men’s Development Age Group Competition Program provides training and competitive opportunities for beginner to elite gymnasts from ages 6 to 18.  The Development Program is organized into ten different levels of training or competition. Each level has multiple age groups and opportunities for participation and competition.  All teams within this program have a year long commitment, beginning in July, and ending in June of the following year.  Gymnasts must be at least 5 years old to participate in this program.  Acceptance into the boys DP is by coaches recommendation only.  Contact Matt Hall, Boys Program Director, for more information.

Xcel Program
